WHAT IT MEANS TO BELIEVE

Dear brothers and sisters, I just wanted to let you know that this kind of stuff got me labeled as being an extremist while in federal prison. If you read through it, I am sure you will see whose words these really are. Please fellow laborers in the Lord, let's get this out there.

Waking up one morning, first thing I say is, "I love you Jesus." He asks, "How much?" Talk about being put on the spot; that is exactly how it makes me feel whenever He asks me anything concerning my love for Him. It puts fear into me for some reason.

Now, I have been questioned by lots of people for lots of different things I have done, but it is when Jesus asks me a question like that, that my senses are totally awakened. Here I am thinking, "Umm", then He asks, "Will you deny me?" I replied, "Would I deny you?" and then, "Are you serious?" Then I say, "Did I not write the President about You?"

Jesus then says, "You confessed Me before men." A verse from Matthew 10 immediately comes to mind: "Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.

After that, Jesus held His peace until later on in the evening. It-is always baffling to me why He picks what would seem to be the most inopportune times to talk, but since He is God, there is no reason for me to question Him. This time He waits until I am on the toilet. It is not the first time He has addressed me while using the restroom.
As it turns out our conversation is rather relieving, no pun intended. This is due to Him letting me know the answer to some very important questions concerning two scriptures in the Bible. The first one is John 3:16, which reads:

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

With this last testimony, my Lord had me write, see (HOW HIS SPIRIT IS RECEIVED), that verse made me wonder. That is, until He let me know what it means to believe when He asked me, "Would you believe just anything?" and then, "How is it you believe something someone tells you is real?" That made me think. After a minute or two I respond, "By checking out the story, getting to know them, weighing whatever they are talking about and making sure it is legit." He let me know that is exactly how it is to be done
when He said, "That is right."

He let me know that the way to finding eternal life is in His word. This is due to His word being living and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword. The reason people do not want to turn to the glorious light of the gospel is due to there being so many practicing evil and they do not want their deeds exposed.

The second scripture He gave me a revelation on is Romans 10:9, which says:
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, You will be saved."
Would it not be great if all we had to do is just say we believe. The thing the Lord brought me to earlier in the day all made sense now. That just confirmed what a pastor said about it taking knowledge of who Jesus is before you can make an open confession about Him.

In my former profession, I learned about people by studying them. That is the best way I know to learn about a person. It is also the best way, I have found to getting to know the Lord Jesus Christ, which is to study Him in His word.

Sincerely,
Stephen DiCenso. A slave of Jesus Christ
